Income Tax Compliance
Advance tax, TDS and TCS, returns, rectifications, refunds and planning: the year-round income tax work for individuals, businesses and trusts.

Who needs it
Employers, businesses and professionals required to deduct or collect tax at source.
Income tax compliance is not a once-a-year return. It runs through the year: advance tax every quarter, TDS deducted and deposited every month, TDS returns every quarter, reconciliations with Form 26AS and AIS, and replies when the department asks questions. Getting it right keeps penalties and interest away, makes your accounts more credible to banks and investors, and keeps you eligible for government schemes. We look after the whole cycle for individuals, businesses, non-residents and trusts.
Why it matters
- Avoiding penalties: late returns, short payment of advance tax and TDS defaults bring interest, fees and penalties, and sometimes prosecution.
- Credibility: accurate returns and reconciled TDS give lenders, investors and partners confidence in your numbers.
- Smooth operations: clean compliance avoids blocked refunds, demand notices and delays in tenders and loans.
What we cover
Income tax returns
Correct computation of income, all eligible deductions (such as 80C and 80D under the old regime), the right ITR form and filing on time. See income tax return filing.
Advance tax
If your tax for the year after TDS is ₹10,000 or more, advance tax is payable in instalments: 15% by 15 June, 45% by 15 September, 75% by 15 December and 100% by 15 March. Presumptive taxpayers pay in one instalment by 15 March. Shortfalls attract interest under sections 234B and 234C. We estimate the liability each quarter and remind you before each date.
TDS and TCS
- Deducting tax at the right rate on salaries, contractors, professionals, rent, commission, interest and payments to non-residents
- Depositing TDS by the 7th of the following month (30 April for March)
- Quarterly TDS returns in Forms 24Q (salaries), 26Q (residents), 27Q (non-residents) and 27EQ (TCS)
- Issuing Form 16 and Form 16A to employees and payees
- Reconciling TDS with books and correcting defaults on TRACES
Late TDS returns attract a fee of ₹200 a day under section 234E, and late deposit carries interest of 1.5% a month.
Tax audit
Businesses and professionals above the turnover limits need a tax audit under section 44AB, reported in Form 3CA or 3CB with Form 3CD. See tax audit.
Notices and assessments
Notices often arise from mismatches between the return and AIS, TDS claims that don't match the deductor's returns, or selection for scrutiny. We reply, provide evidence and represent you. See e-proceedings and notices.
Rectifications and revised returns
Mistakes in a processed return can be corrected through a rectification request under section 154, or a revised return within the time allowed. We identify the error, choose the right route and follow it up.
Tax planning
Structuring income and investments, using deductions and tax-saving instruments such as ELSS, PPF and NPS where the old regime applies, and comparing regimes each year, all within the law.
Refunds and reconciliations
Calculating refunds correctly, resolving mismatches in Form 26AS and AIS, and following up delayed refunds with the department.
Who needs it
- Individuals: salaried employees, freelancers, investors and high-net-worth individuals
- Businesses: proprietors, partnership firms, LLPs and companies
- Non-residents: NRIs and foreign companies with Indian income
- Trusts and NGOs: organisations claiming exemption under sections 11 and 12
How we work
We set up a compliance calendar for each client, send reminders ahead of every date, and review your position before each advance tax instalment and return. With AIS and Form 26AS now tracking most transactions, we reconcile before filing rather than after a notice.
Common questions
I'm salaried. Do I need to pay advance tax?
Usually not on salary, since your employer deducts TDS. You may need to if you have significant interest, rent, capital gains or other income on which tax has not been deducted.
What happens if TDS is deducted but not deposited?
The deductor is liable for the tax, interest at 1.5% a month and possible penalties, and the payee may be unable to claim the credit until it is corrected.
How do I know if my TDS has been credited?
Check Form 26AS and AIS on the income tax portal. We reconcile these with your records before filing.
Section and form numbers on this page refer to the Income-tax Act, 1961 and its rules. From 1 April 2026 the Income-tax Act, 2025 applies, with new section and form numbers; the requirements described here are broadly unchanged. We use whichever numbering applies to your transaction date.
