Section 8 Company Registration
A not-for-profit company for charitable, educational, social or similar objects, licensed under section 8 of the Companies Act.

Who needs it
Founders of NGOs, foundations, trade bodies and social enterprises who want the credibility and governance of a company rather than a trust or society.
A Section 8 company is the most respected form for a non-profit in India. It is registered by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, is not allowed to pay dividends, and must use all its income for its objects, which is why donors, CSR teams and grant makers often prefer it.
How it differs from a trust or society
- Registered centrally, so it can operate anywhere in India
- Governed by the Companies Act, with clear rules on directors, meetings and accounts
- No minimum capital, and the name need not end with "Limited"
What we handle
We draft objects that fit what you actually plan to do, obtain the licence with the incorporation, and then help with 12A and 80G registration under the Income-tax Act and CSR-1 registration, so the company can receive tax-deductible donations and CSR funds.
Documents to keep ready
- PAN, Aadhaar and address proof of the directors and members
- Proof of the registered office
- Statement of the objects and the planned activities for the next three years
- Estimated income and expenditure for the next three years
